Porters is my 'local' pub, a small U.K. style pub with stone walls and vintage tables. A fantastic beer selection, with locally sourced and international offerings always on tap. Food is very good, flavorful and fresh. Some of the appetizers could use a bit of a refresher, and more vegetarian options in the specials would be nice. Everything I have had from Porters has been very good, and service is attentive and pleasant. That being said, this is a small restaurant, which fills up very quickly on busy nights such as when there is a show at the local theater. Reservations can be hard to come by, but that's the nature of the place. If you are looking for a great beer or quick bite, and the timing is right, it's hard to go wrong with Porter's.
Great experience. Out of towners, picked this place off of reviews and we were not disappointed. Great atmosphere, delicious food, dessert was out of this world, and our server made us feel like we have known him for years.
1833 stone and brick building. More than 5000 beer steins line the rafters. Awesome Porterhouse steak! Fresh salad. Hearty portions. Tasty beef barley soup. Very good coffee and the best stout brownie anywhere. Friendly and efficient service. Clean bathroom. Live Friday night entertainment. Was packed and noisy on a Friday night. Street parking.
Disappointed, bread was dry on sandwich. Biggest disappointment was no french fries. Drinks were good as well as service but don't plan to ever go back.
One of the only real pubs in the area. Great food selection and the originator of the pub mugs. Food is great.
